Traveling around the globe, from Chicago to Berlin and from London to Ibiza, into the Dutch crowd, dance music was born, and the industry came alive. The bassline became the funky rhythm of all genres.
From future festivals like Dance Valley, Awakenings, and Shine Festival, to iconic club nights such as Sneakerz, Silly Symphonies, Club Risk, and the VOLTT Nights.
Real house and funky techno were defined and became mainstream genres globally, including in the Netherlands.
In our hometown, real house and funky techno were also presented by Club De Rechter at Stratumseind. The club was based in an iconic building that was formerly a courthouse, in the early 2000s.
As the founder of BackTogether Ame, I participated in co-promoting some of these (club) events in the south of the Netherlands, in Eindhoven, also known as “the city of light and future electronics.”
